Low-Cost Internet Options
In addition to these free options, we have identified a few low-cost internet options that families might choose to pursue. These are:
- Comcast: Comcast offers a package called Internet Essentials for low income families for $9.95/month. There is an application process to verify eligibility. Comcast also offers an option to purchase a low-cost computer for $149.95 for families enrolled in their Internet Essentials program.
- PCs for People: PCs for People offers high speed 4G LTE internet service for as low as $11.25/month. Plans are prepaid; there is an application process to verify eligibility. PCs for People also offers low-cost computers for eligible individuals and families.
Mobile Internet Options
Finally, many cell phone service providers offer the option to have your phone act as a "hot spot" for internet access. You would need to contact your cell phone service provider for more information about availability and cost for this option.
