STEM Scouts Brochure
• Wednesdays, afterschool, 2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
20+ weeks of programming (school holidays/breaks excluded)
• Lab starts: Wednesday, December 4, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
• Cost: $200, scholarships and payment plan available upon request

• STEM Scouts will include things like:
o SparkFun Robotics: introducing to computational thinking, basic programming concepts; explore inputs, outputs;
design and engineer Robots.
o Things That Go: Design and engineer various machines that use natural resources, motors, gravity, propulsion. From
balloon-powered to solar-powered, from lift and drag to thrust and leverage.
o Structural Engineering: Learn about various building materials, symmetrical balancing, tension, compression and
working with/against gravity. Students will build their own bridges/towers to test their knowledge.
