National Foundation for Governors' Fitness CouncilsIn 2017 the National Foundation for Governors' Fitness Councils (NFGFC) awarded three schools in four states, for a total of 12, new $100,000 DON'T QUIT! fitness centers.

The states chosen for 2017 were Colorado, Oregon, Maryland and Louisiana.  The gifts include design, delivery, and installation of premium strength and cardio equipment.

Everitt Middle School was one of three Colorado schools chosen to receive this gift.  Schools had to complete an application; Everitt submitted a 5-minute video application with the help of district and administrative support.

There will be a ribbon cutting event in October in which Governor Hickenlooper will attend along with Jake Steinfeld, the chairman for NFGFC, and his team.  The NFGFC's mission is to prevent childhood obesity.
