  • Favorite Book(s):  In Cold Blood and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
  • How do you spend your summer breaks?  I spend it in "recovery".  I do the things that I don't get done during the school year, like doctors/dentists appointments, house fix-ups.  I travel with my son all over Colorado and to visit family in St. Louis and Iowa.  I mountain bike, trail run, garden and do lots of healthy grilling!
  • How would your middle school teachers describe you as a middle school student?  I was mostly unnoticed during junior high.  Though, quiet, compliant, ugly (big glasses and braces) and awkward as a 7th grader, I grew to be well-liked, friendly, confident and creative by 9th grade.  I was an okay student, skating by with mostly As (loved algebra) and Bs.... except for science!  The secret to middle school:  become active and involved in something - sports, art, clubs, STEM..... just do something positive outside of school.
