- How do you spend your summer breaks? I spend my summers connecting with family. We have parties and go camping together. I also spend time improving my teaching skills through Professional Development classes and planning for the next school year. I use the summer to reconnect mostly with family and friends and to relax.
- How would your middle school teachers describe you as a middle school student? I was a rebel in middle school, I would organized protests when I felt things were unfair. I did okay in my classes and loved reading (always have and still do). I would be described as energetic, outgoing and a little frustrating. I always had my own opinions. The secret to middle school: it is okay to have an opinion, you just need to know how to effectively and appropriately voice your thoughts and feeling.

Biographical Sketch:
I was born here in Colorado and have never lived anywhere else. I grew up in Lakewood and attended multiple Jefferson County schools. I graduated form Colorado's Finest Alternative High School in Englewood. After graduating from college with a B.A. in psychology, I began working in the juvenile justice field. I stayed within this field for almost 10 years before getting a M.A in Education. I always new I would be a teacher eventually, I just had to experience a different side of life first. I began teaching at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year at Connections Learning Center in Golden. I taught 7th and 8th grade humanities, reading intervention and 7th and 9th grade English. I changed schools to Everitt Middle School at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year where I currently teach 8th grade English and 8th grade Honors English. I am a mom to two girls, both students in Jeffco schools. I have a "zoo" of animals at home: four cats, five dogs and a fish. In my free time I enjoy reading books, watching the Walking Dead, and spending time with my family and friends; eating good food and having good conversations.
