  • How do you spend your summer breaks?  I love to travel. In years past I have been to London, Sweden, Peru, Mexico, and all over the United States. Last summer I went on my first river cruise to China! It was an amazing adventure, I definite;y plan to make it back there again. This summer I am going on my first ocean cruise where I will be visiting. When I am home, I love to spend time with my dogs, twin sister, family and friends at the pool, barbecues and outdoor activities. Running and exercising are key to staying healthy and summertime is when I work extra hard on that since I get to be outdoors.
  • How would your middle school teachers describe you as a middle school student?  I was a compliant quiet student. I always did what I was asked to do, but I would be very reluctant to ask teachers for help if I didn't understand a question or assignment. I got mostly A's and B's so teachers were generally happy with me. I was really into basketball and tennis when I was middle school aged and I truly believe that made my experience in middle school more successful. Middle school is a tough time for many kids and the best thing to remember is that you can always rely on teachers for support and you can always confide in them. We've all been your age once too and in most cases we can totally relate to what you are going through.

Biographical Sketch:  Born in Urubamba, Peru, Sarah was adopted, along with her twin sister, and brought to live in Lakewood, Colorado. She grew up in Applewood area and attended Prospect Valley Elementary, Everitt Junior High School, and Wheat Ridge High School. After receiving her teaching certificate, Sarah knew that she absolutely wanted to teach in Jeffco and she managed to secure her first teaching position at Stober Elementary (a few blocks from her childhood home). During her time teaching visual arts, Sarah engaged in the ESL endorsement program through Jeffco and realized she had wanted to continue on with her studies to gain her first masters in ESL. In 2015, Sarah had an opportunity to start her own business, so she took a year off from teaching to open a consignment store in the Applewood area. Although enjoying her time with this new venture, Sarah missed the classroom and decided to return to teaching visual arts part-time while also starting her second masters program in Principalship. She decided to expand her knowledge of the classroom by returning full time to teaching as a secondary ESL teacher at Everitt Middle School. She truly enjoys being back at her alma matar teaching middle school aged students and she looks forward to one day being a Principal in Jeffco Public Schools. In her free time, Sarah loves to spend time with her twin sister and family and take her dogs running. She is an avid lover of the outdoors and engages in many outdoor activities as well as travels the States and around the world.
