  • Favorite Book(s)I am not much of a reader, but I enjoy reading advocacy books on exercise and physical education and why it is important for all people. Two of my favorites are Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain (by John Ratey) and Brain Rules (by John Medina). I will read anything sports related such as Sports Illustrated and the rule book for baseball.
  • How do you spend your summer breaks? I always make sure I attend some type of professional development for physical education to improve my practice. I spend a lot of the time umpiring baseball games and spending a lot of time with my family, especially my identical twin brother and his son (Aiden) and dog (Jake).
  • How would your middle school teachers describe you as a middle school student? My middle school teachers would describe me as very hard working and determined. I wasn't good at all subjects, but my teachers knew I would work hard to learn the material if I struggled with the class. They would also say that I was very talkative and struggled to sit still, which makes sense because I was ADHD.

  • Graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Performance and Sport with a Physical Education Teacher Licensure (K-12th).

Biographical Sketch:
I was named the 2018 SHAPE Colorado Middle School P.E. Teacher of the Year. Previous to teaching at Everitt, I taught physical education at O'Connell Middle School for five years. I played 2.5 years of college baseball at a small college in Kansas. I coached high school baseball for eight years before transitioning to umpiring, which is now one of my passions. I work tirelessly to try and provide students with the best physical education experience as possible. I am an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Colorado Rockies, and Under Armour. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing any kind of sport, and watching MLB, NFL, and college basketball games.
